Medical Billing Company Teaches Medical Terminology for the Allied Health Professional at Local Community College

Capture Billing will be teaching a medical terminology class the first semester of 2012 at local community college

Loudoun County, VA – Capture Billing & Consulting, Inc., a national medical billing company located in South Riding, Virginia, will begin the first semester of 2012 teaching Medical Terminology for the Allied Health Professional at Northern Virginia Community College (NVCC), Loudoun Campus in Sterling, Virginia.

NVCC’s “Medical Terminology for the Allied Health Professional” class will be taught by Katie Jennings. Allied Health Professional; refers to individuals who work in a variety fields within the medical community. Katie’s experience as a medical biller and nurse has helped her navigate in both the clinical and administrative aspects of healthcare. Katie’s knowledge and use of medical terminology has been a great source of information in designing the class.

“This in-depth class will assist students interested in the medical billing field. Learning the fundamentals of medical terminology via the introduction of anatomy will help prepare students for the Certified Coding Professional (CPC) exam”, says Katie, “in addition to preparing students for a career in the healthcare industry”.

In this class students will learn medical prefixes, suffixes, root words, and commonly used medical terms by the allied health professional. The class structure will allow students a chance to learn the proper pronunciation and definitions of medical terminology and how physicians use them.

The five session class will help students prepare for the CPC certification exam and to succeed in the medical billing and coding field. As medical billing standards change and become more complicated, qualified individuals will be highly sought after.
